Boab Flowers

New Insights and Video: Boab Flowers

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

In the September 2016 issue of The Essence Magazine, we featured a video about Boab and I promised to return to Derby later in the year to capture the amazing Boab Flower. While I couldn’t capture the amazing aroma on video, I show you the flowers in bloom and the making of the Boab Mother Tincture.

What I don’t mention in the video is that these flowers are extremely short lived – they open in the early hours of the morning and complete their journey by nightfall. These flowers are pollenated by hawkmoths and other insects, birds, sugar gliders and the black flying fox who eat the anthers of the flowers.

I hope you enjoy watching it.
